Alpha Girls in the Valley

Many of us have seen the movie “ Hidden Figures”  about the female African American mathematicians who played a key role in NASA’s early Mercury flights in the 1960s.   A new book looks at the women who are playing a similar role in the venture capital world.

Author Julian Guthrie had interviewed many male VCs  and began wondering where were all the female VCs, so she went looking for them.   She found four and shares their stories in her new book “Alpha Girls:  The Women Upstarts Who Took on Silicon Valley’s Male Culture and Made the Deals of a Lifetime.”

If the you want a good overview of the book,  Knowledge@Wharton features a written and audio interview with the author.  Share it with a young woman in your life.
